The Rabbitohs lost 24-21 on Saturday night as they lost two of their front-line centres, with the other of their key forwards, Lacnatyasastra.comhlan Coote, leaving the club.

The loss of Coote has been particularly difficult for the Storm and has cost the Cowboys the two games remaining in the home and away seasons, with two wins and four points between them.

They must now replace them on the wing, with fellow Origin and former Springbok prop Sam Burgess taking on the fullback positions of Chris Grevsmuhl and Josh Jackson.

Burgess played fullback at Canberra and was also the starting hooker for the Storm in 2016 before he retired at the end of the season.

In a statement, Cowboys general manager, Nathan Brown, said the club had a strong list of backs who are "proven players in good form.

"Their experience, intelligence and ability to win a game will serve them well at this crucial juncture."

"We all have an expectation that the club's front line should be strong and solid, but also capable of creating an attacking opportunity for themselves," Brown said.
